Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle massage technique that focuses on returning the natural, subtle movements of the cranial bones back into their healthy rhythm. This aids in improvement of blood flow and cerebral spinal fluid throughout the skull and down the spine. Engaging the bones of the head/pelvis, fascia, and nervous systems are the main systems involved in the beneficial effects it has on a wide range of conditions.

The “Rest and Digest” branches of the autonomic nervous system originate from the cranium and sacral areas. This why CST is helpful for physical, mental, and emotional overwhelm on the body that has or is playing a role in symptom and disease development.

The nervous system and stress impact our hormones, blood sugar, blood pressure, digestion, and nutrient/oxygen carrying capacity. Thus, the nervous system calming effects of this therapy are what most patients enjoy and benefit from the most.

Indications for CST include: Headaches/Migraines, Post-Concussion Syndrome, Anxiety and Stress-related problems, Muscle/Joint aches and pains, TMJ, Whiplash, Hypertension, Digestive issues, Fatigue, and so much more.

Contraindications for CST include: Recent Stroke(6-8weeks), Cerebral Aneurysm, Skull Fracture, Recent Spinal Tap, recent Trauma to the Head (6-8 weeks).
